Legend holds that the woman, jealous of her husband's second wife, refused to move when the Sioux decamped; a search party found her, turned to stone. Fort Yates also once held the original burial site of Sitting Bull who was killed here in 1890, but the unimpressive site, marked by a boulder on a dusty side road two miles west of Hwy-1806, is certainly not what one would expect for the great Sioux warrior. After his family exhumed his remains in 1953, Sitting Bull is now more suitable interred and memorialized near his birthplace in Mobridge, South Dakota just 50 miles to the south.

You'll be confronted by one gorgeous landscape after another, especially at dusk, when the intense Western sun illuminates the bands of sunflower fields, turns the dry and grassy hills a reddish shade of ocher, and casts angular shadows beneath the darting sandpipers, who whisk their brown-and-white forms along the roadway, buzzing the lone care on the road in an extended game of highway tag.

RN Nurse Manager: RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• Manage the nursing staff in the Emergency Department, including hiring, training and scheduling.
• Ensure that patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively, while adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient flow and staffing levels to optimize the use of resources and minimize wait times.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the quality of care provided in the Emergency Department.
• Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, such as patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and staff productivity.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead performance improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those related to patient safety and infection control.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
  RN Manager: REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States of the District of Columbia. License shall be full and unrestricted.
  • Shall have a nationally accredited associate's degree or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years Emergency Nursing experience.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality improvement methodologies.

    Working Conditions:
    The Emergency Nurse Manager will work primarily in a hospital setting, with frequent interaction with patients, families and healthcare professionals. This position may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Emergency Nurse Manager may also be required to respond to emergencies and provide on-call support as needed.
