TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PICU RN in Bismarck, North Dakota, 58501 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatrics Job Specialty: Inpatient Pediatrics Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shifts (1830-0700) every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum experience in PICU and general pediatric care License: Registered Nursing License Certifications: PALS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with EPIC - Ability to manage both PICU and general pediatric patients - Willingness to float to NICU and OB units Job Description: - Seeking a Pediatric RN skilled in managing patients in the PICU (e.g., intubated patients, DKA on insulin drips) and on the general pediatrics floor. - Responsibilities include handling continuous nebs, BiPAP, and managing pediatric patients (3-4) on the general floor. - Familiarity with computerized charting and medication systems, specifically EPIC, is required. - Work schedule involves 12-hour night shifts, including working alternate weekends. - Required to float to NICU for grower/feeder assignments and assist in OB when necessary. - May occasionally need to provide 1:1 care for safety or suicide prevention house-wide if census is low. - The unit has 17 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 in PICU, 1:3 or 1:4 on the general pediatric floor. - Orientation includes a few shifts to familiarize with unit protocols. - Navy scrubs are the dress code, with the option to wear a child-friendly, colorful scrub top. This position requires candidates to reside more than 80 miles away from the facility.
