  • Common diagnoses include total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery, bariatrics, and medical overflow.
    • Job Requirements
    • BLS certification required
    • Prefer surgical experience and post-op early ambulation experience
    • Must be okay with first-time travelers
      • Schedule Information
      • 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 shifts
      • Manager to make schedule; block scheduling may be considered if unit needs are met
      • Weekend requirement: every other
      • Holiday requirement: as needed
      • Floating requirements: Float to medical and telemetry units
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4-5, Nights: 1:5-6
        • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Occasional heparin drip, PCA pump, TPN
        • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Yes, 1:12 ratio
          • Additional Details
          • Close knit and good culture on the unit
          • Bedside shift report is an expectation
          • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)
